"We came to the Trossachs and
enjoyed some great walking.
The accommodation, the food and the hospitality were
all first class.
The view across your Moor is stunning.
We will return!"

There are many great Outdoor Activities that are within easy reach
of The Barns of Shannochill.
WALKING
There is a fantastic network of wonderful paths to walk, and hills to
climb, around the Trossachs.
From the walk on our own Moor, to a stroll with great views, through
the magnificent Queen Elizabeth Forest Park, or a wee climb up the "smallest
Ben with the best view" - Ben A'an, overlooking beautiful Loch
Katrine...to a full day's hike up mighty Ben Lomond for a breathtaking
view over Loch Lomond and Scotland's first National Park.
Whatever your walking needs...there is much which is easily accessible
from The Barns of Shannochill.
PHOTOGRAPHY
The Barns of Shannochill is surrounded by some of Scotland's most scenic
vistas, where photographic opportunities abound!
GOLF
Nearby Aberfoyle, has a very scenic golf course.
"A very picturesque little course which I found very challenging.
Set in some of the most beautiful countryside Scotland has to offer
with a view of Ben Lomond. This is a little gem of a course not to be
missed!!" - Steven Brown
Scotland has almost "wall to wall" golf courses - a landscape
full of opportunity for the golfer exists.
SAILING & WATERSPORTS
We can make arrangements for you to enjoy the excellent facilities of
the nearby Forest Hills Watersports Centre, which offers boating, canoeing,
sailing and windsurfing on scenic Loch Ard.
QUAD BIKING
Go Forth offer the fun of Quad Biking on the forest roads around Loch
Ard - only 15 minutes away from Shannochill.
FISHING
We can help you to arrange trout fishing on Loch Ard and there are also
many other beautiful fishing lochs around the Trossachs.
We would be delighted to arrange for someone to teach you the art of
Fly Fishing and to show you some of the best spots to cast in the area.
CLAY PIGEON SHOOTING
Arrangements can be made for clay pigeon shooting at nearby Ledard Farm.
The shoot is conducted by expert instructors - the emphasis is on fun!
Two radio-controlled traps provide the targets, while there is a choice
of guns. Sub-sonic ammunition is used which significantly reduces the
recoil and the noise.
CURLING
Following the Scottish girls great success with their gold medal at
the Winter Olympics, you may wish to follow their example and try your
hand at curling - at the nearby Forest Hills Leisure Centre, which boasts
one of the best curling rinks in Scotland.
