The Barns of Shannochill
Bed & Breakfast

Location

The house is centrally located and provides an ideal base from which to explore much of Scotland. Stirling and Loch Lomond are only half an hour's drive away, while the cities of Edinburgh, Glasgow and Perth are all within an easy hour's drive. The M90 at Stirling provides access to the main motorways, enabling day trips to both the east and west coasts.

The Barns of Shannochill is located 1 1/2 miles off the A81, the main Glasgow to Aberfoyle road, with the entrance situated 2 miles south of Aberfoyle.

From Stirling

1. Leave the M9 at junction 10.
2. Travelling from the north, go right at the first roundabout, back over the motorway, and straight over the next roundabout, taking the A84 to Crianlarich and Doune.
3. Travelling from the south, take the second left exit at the roundabout, following signs for the A84 to Crianlarich and Doune.
4. Follow this road for approx 5 miles. After the Blair Drummond Safari Park, take the second road on the left sign-posted A873 to Thornhill, Aberfoyle and the Trossachs Trail.
5. Continue along this road, going through Thornhill, around a sharp right hand bend making sure you don’t take the turn off for Callander.
6. Follow this road for 15 mins going through Ruskie, the Port of Menteith to a t-junction with the Rob Roy Motel opposite.
7. Do not turn right into Aberfoyle. Turn left on A81 towards Glasgow.
8. The farm road is exactly 1 mile from the Rob Roy.
9. After a sharp right hand corner, you will see a signpost to Gartmore. Slow down here! Do not take the farm road on the left by the signpost, but take the next farm road on the left about 50 yards after the sign. If you get to the next Gartmore sign, you've gone too far!
10. There is a bright blue sign with white writing on it with the house name plus a big green bin.
11. Follow this private road, bearing left at the first corner and come on up past a cottage, then over two cattle grids and past a green barn.
12. You will then see two white houses at the top looking over the lake and we are the right hand one and you drive round in front of it.
13. Well worth the trek I can assure you!
14. Any problems, phone 01877 382878.
